The Good Samaritan Program of Champaign and Piatt counties is working to expand its Caring Companions Program for seniors.  The program provides socialization, transportation, and assistance with activities of daily living by matching volunteers with seniors based on mutual interests, geographic location, need and compatibility.  The goal is to improve the quality of life for seniors in our community.  Do you know a senior over the age of 60 and living independently who would appreciate someone coming to visit, talk, read, play cards or share in another activity?  Or maybe could use a little help with shopping, light errands, or getting to appointments?  Do you know someone with a little extra time on their hands looking for a fulfilling way to make a difference in another person's life?  To participate in this program as a senior care receiver, or to volunteer, contact Jan Blaney This email address is being protected from spambots.
